TONY GORBALL
Drums & Vocals
Tony has been with the band since its beginnings in 1994. He played bass guitar for the band until early 1999. After graduating high school, he moved to Indianapolis to attend Marian College where he formed Too Few Tricks, Uncle Juju's ancestor. He played with several bands including, Free Will, Celtic Fire and The Snooze Brothers which opened for acts such as Kathy Triccoli, Rich Mullins, and The Newsboys. He also sat in with the well-known local band, Roadhouse, once in a while.
Tony got married in August of 1996 following his graduation with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education. From fall 1996 until spring 1999, he taught band, choir, music appreciation and general music at Scecina High School, Jennings County Middle/High School and St. Roch & All Saints Catholic Schools consecutively. Tony earned his Master of Science in Music Technology from Indiana University in August 1999. He is now employed as a web developer in Indianapolis.
KEN PACK
Lead Guitar & Back-up Vocals
Ken joined Uncle Juju in the summer of 1999, since no one else wanted the job. His first attempt at music was as a drummer (yes, a contradiction), and he played percussion through most of his formative school years. After receiving a guitar from his brother for Christmas at age 15, the time he spent drumming decreased, as he had found an instrument he could actually play (actually, not so much ... it was really just for the chicks). Thanks to intermittent and uninspired practice his skills as a guitarist began to overshadow his "skills" as a drummer (which reveals the deplorable state of his drumming). Eventually Ken gave up drums all together (and immediately gained 15 I.Q. points as a result - an effect he would gladly point out to Tony if his attention could be diverted from that bright shiny object). He began studying guitar in earnest ... or at least in theory. His musical journey lead him to jazz band at Indiana State University - much to the displeasure of the jazz instructor who offered to let Ken play tambourine instead ... "Hey wait, there's no tambourine in jazz ... "
Ken has since received a degree in Education, but rather than spoil the youth of America, he instead enrolled in law school (which of course puts him nicely on the path to spoil everything else in America). He is currently in this second year, and would like to mention to fans that, should they suffer a debilitating personal injury, he will be available for consultation in May, 2005.
When he's not directing Uncle Juju in its ground-breaking musical exploration (a new form of music referred to on the street as "noise"), he works in the legal department of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and teaches guitar at Carmel Music Center. As for personal interests, when he is not wrestling alligators for charity, breaking the genetic code, or practicing medicine for free in third-world countries, Ken enjoys surprising his beautiful wife with flowers, chocolates, and romantic dinners (and full-of-crap personal biographies bearing no resemblance to reality, she would have you know). Ken has also been known to drink coffee until his eyes pop out of his head, which explains the blank look on his face (please don't stare, he's very self-conscious).
CHRIS RAMSEY
Bass & Back-up Vocals
Chris is the newest member of the band joining in the fall of 2003. Chris started his passion for playing music at a young age of 6 when he got his first guitar for Christmas. His freshman year of high school he played trombone in his high school jazz band. After the first semester his director came to him one morning and told him he was going to be playing bass guitar since their bassist quit. He clearly remembers his director yelling at him for wanting to use a pick on the bass. It wasn’t long before he began picking up awards for musicianship and jazz bass solos at the many competitions the group attended.
Chris received his BA in business management from the Falls School of Business at Anderson University. Although Chris did not pursue a music degree, he still kept very involved with playing bass. He studied bass from local session player, Randy Melson. He also had the opportunity to back up some of the top names in the Christian music business. When not found in class, Chris was performing and touring with the AU Jazz band, Anderson Symphony Orchestra, and various strangely named rock bands. During the summers Chris could be found working at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky Ohio, performing with the Surfin’ Summertime Band.
For the past 10 years to keep the bills paid, Chris has been working his day job as a stock broker.
